Vintage Palmer Cox, Brownies child's cup and knife.  A wonderful cup with eight Brownies on the outside.  Including an Indian chasing a Scotsman, a policeman knocking someone on the top of his head, and more.  The knife handle has what looks like a policeman at the top, and another figure underneath.  The cup is marked Homan Silverplate Co., Quadruple Plate, there are no marks on the knife.

Palmer Cox created the Brownies and wrote many books including them.  The Brownies are where the "Brownie" camera came from, they were used in many advertisements. There is a lot of wonderful information and images on the Brownies online.

I believe the cup has lost most of it's silverplate, but that does not detract from the detail.  There are dings on the handle, the bottom is not completely flat, and the top rim is not a perfect circle.  The knife has some silver worn in the blade area, which is also just slightly wavy.  All and all for their age and rarity I think they are a nice set.  In my research I have not found another cup like this.

The cup is approx. 3 1/8 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches across the bottom.  The knife is 7 inches long.
