Description
A very nice certificate of marriage from October 22, 1941. It is contained in a folder with a snap, of blue suede marked in gold "Bridal Token". This fits in a nice blue heavy envelope.
This Certifies that on the 22nd day of October in the year of our Lord, 1941 Julius Floyd Maxie
and Nora Elizabeth Harper Hiatt
were by me united in
Holy Matrimony at Martinsville According to the Ordinance of God and the laws of Virginia
Witnesses: J.P. McCabe First Baptist Church
I believe I have the names correct. It also includes a paper with the items a bride should wear, something old, something new......
The outer envelope does have some age wear, one small tear under the flap. The certificate has 1/4 inch tears on each side where it's folded, and some tan aging on the bottom. The suede and snap are in very good condition.
The certificate measures approx. 5 1/4 x 7 inches.
