A nice old boudoir cap, I think in the flapper style.  These are also called bed or breakfast caps, or bonnets.  This cap is light tan in color, a fine netting with ribbon trim.  There is lace in the front, back, and the ear areas.

By the 1920's the traditional cotton and lace cap had been replaced with colorful silk and lace, accented with silk ribbons, bows, and flowers. The boudoir cap was worn early in the morning, in the ladies bedroom. It was worn to hide her uncombed hair or to protect her hair while dressing.

This is a very nice cap, and it does have some wear.  There are several small holes in the netting, some of the ribbon is loose over the left ear area, there are several ribbon flowers that have been flattened or undone a bit over time.  Some of the ribbon trim is coming loose from the lace.  I think this was a loved and used item, but it still would look wonderful displayed properly.

Please excuse my model, I couldn't talk my son into modeling for me!
