Description

A wonderful old doll carriage, I believe it is Victorian, and unusual.  I have been looking at many carriages online and have not seen another like this.  Especially the padded interior, black oil cloth with red tacks, giving it a quilted appearance.  The body is wicker, the wheels metal, the handle is turned wood.  I believe the hood is black oil cloth.  I would love to see the small child that pushed her dolls around in this carriage.  The axle ? in the middle of the wheel is wood.

The wicker body has a little give from the metal frame when picking it up.  The brackets that attach to the hood, to hold it up, were not attached when I purchased it, they are easily attached, the screws are bent or stripped and need to be replaced.

Someone has glued on a black fringe over the brown fringe that I assume was original.  This was not done in the area under the hood, but has been added to the edge of the hood, and around the outside of the carriage.  I do not know why, the first thought that came to me was could it have been for mourning?  Possibly the child wanted to copy Mother?  I have no idea, I don't know the age of the fringe or the reason.  You can see a bit of a brownish residue from glue here and there (not bad), so it seems to have some age to it.

The carriage body stands approx. 11 1/2 inches tall.  The body is 10 inches wide and 16 1/2 inches in length.  The back wheel stands approx. 7 inches tall.  The bonnet up is approx. 22 1/2 inches tall.

Please check out the MORE photos to see more of this wonderful carriage, if you have any questions or would like a photo I don't have please let me know.  This is not a reproduction.

This carriage is very heavy.  If shipping is less than I have estimated, I do refund.

I WOULD LOVE FOR THIS CARRIAGE TO GO TO A GOOD HOME, PLEASE MAKE ME AN OFFER!
